OUR SCHOOL
High school can be very different from university. While Southern Cross Academy offers a wide variety of tutorials to high school students, we also provide tutorials to prepare you for the UMAT and Interview. This brand new Premed ONE is here to help freshmen smoothly transit into university life so that unexpected questions do not get the better of them in a test and therefore compromise their chances of obtaining better grades.
We understand that the first year at university can be exciting but chaotic and challenging at the same time. PreMed ONE is run by peers who understand the stress of studying for premed papers. Many of our tutors were once students who had only just finished high school and were already facing fierce competition right from the start of their freshmen year. In fact, we prefer the term “mentors” to tutors, as we are not only here to help you academically, but to help you understand what it means to be a medical student and a doctor in the future.

OUR WORKSHOPS
Personal approach
We know you are passionate about your study and career choice, and that passion deserves to be treated with respect and matched by an equal amount of attention from our mentors. This is why the workshops are designed for small-group mentoring. Compared to larger cohorts where there might be thirty people each vying for attention, our mentors will have plenty of time for everyone. You will leave with plenty of questions answered at the end of each session! Experienced mentors Our mentors have all studied the papers at an extensive level and have experience in teaching others. They know your learning objectives throughout the semester and will prepare corresponding material, making the session efficient, practical and suited to your level. Dynamic syllabus While nothing replaces hard work and solid foundations, we value your time and do not wish to see you continually struggle with your grades. We will welcome feedback and suggestions about previous workshops so that your mentors will be able to adjust the contents to fit your specific needs, giving you that extra boost before the examinations. Interactive teaching Got a question and didn’t have time to ask your lecturer? Ask us on social media on the fly! A mentor will answer your query within two days. Best of all, it doesn’t even need to be academic-related. You can ask peers and mentors about their opinions on current events. Remember - critical thinking, communication skills and intrinsic value are also important for a doctor. |
